The slots are one of the most famous games to bet on at casinos. On any given night, expect most of the machines to be filled with enthusiastic gamblers. They come in a multitude of wagering levels; a few only cost $.05 a play while others can cost upwards of $20 a play. Although slot games are a wagering tool, a lot of folks are intimidated by the big money table games and are partial to the entertainment and thrill of a good one arm bandit.
The 1st mechanical slot machine was built in 1895 and was called the "Liberty Bell." Created by a California auto mechanic, the earliest slot machines had three spinning reels with diamonds, hearts, spades and a cracked Liberty Bell affixed on each. Prior to this invention, the name "slot machines" was used to describe several kinds of vending machines.
The first real across the board use of slot machines in US betting houses is attributed to the Flamingo Hotel, Las Vegas in and around the 40’s. The owner of the casino had originally thought the machines would be amazing to captivate apathetic wives of a few of the largest high roller customers of the casino. He did not anticipate that the slots would be a fun game for almost everyone and that the appeal would go beyond the the bored wives. Now, it is said, slots make up in excess of 2/3rds of all income brought in by American casinos.
Slot machine games absolutely have a rich history. From the small creation of the late-19th century to the million dollar business of today, slot machines will continue to develop in universal appeal.
